Languages & Storytime in Geneva

There’s nothing my little monkeys and I love more than a good story, so we were over the moon to find out about a series of readings for children organized by Geneva’s public libraries around the theme of languages & communication called “Même pas la langue dans la poche….”.

Until the 31st of March 2013, parents and their little buttons will be able to visit some of Geneva’s bibliothèques municipales and take part in free workshops and multilingual storytimes in Russian, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, English and Wolof.

Each session if free of charge and some require advance booking, so check below and reserve your place now !

  • 6th March 2013: Contes tziganes du pays de Galles, bilingual story-telling in French and English. As the website says, it will be about “Tremendous tales of enchantment, mystery and danger, where ordinary people have to overcome incredible obstacles”. From age 8 at the Bibliothèque des Eaux-Vives, starting at 3pm.

 

 

  • 8th March 2013: Signe avec moi, sign language workshop for 0 to 3 year-olds at the Bibliothèque de la Cité (maison du conte) from 10am to 11am. Places are limited so advance booking is required at 022 418 32 44.

 

 

 

 

 

  • 13th March 2013: Alice au pays des merveilles, an extraordinary reading of the classic “Alice in Wonderland” in six languages: Spanish, Italian, German, English, French and Wolof. An unmissable show for all the multilingual families in Geneva ! From age 8 at the Bibliothèque des Pâquis.
