About

Geneva Family Diaries is a blog and website for expat families living in the Geneva region (Geneva, neighbouring France and Nyon, Canton Vaud). We blog about our family adventures in this amazing corner of Switzerland & we strive to tell you about the best child-friendly places, restaurants and events that you can enjoy with your little ones. We hope you will also share your expat stories and tips with us.

But this is not all. This website is for all parents and couples who still want to have fun when the kids are safe at home with their favourite baby-sitter. We all need a fun night-out with our better halves every now and again, so we will also tell you about our favourite restaurants, bars and music venues, which you can enjoy on a much-deserved date night!

Our posts are not sponsored: while we won’t do any negative reviews, we can guarantee you will hear us rave about all the places we love, so you can rest assured that our recommendations are always genuine and come from the heart.

Should we decide to publish any sponsored or affiliated posts in the future we will always state it clearly to avoid any confusion.

WHO ARE WE?

Michela – Originally from Italy, Michela is a Geneva-based freelance writer, blogger and mum to three little munchinks.

She moved to Switzerland with her family in 2008. Before moving here, she lived in London and worked at the BBC for many years. Always on the look-out for cool, family-friendly activities she’s an absolute art, design, food & travel enthusiast who tries to involve her children in everything she does.

You can read her other blog here Tales of an Accidental Trailing Spouse. She also writes in Italian for consumer magazine MondoKids.

Céline – a French mother-of-two, she lives in London with her Bangladeshi husband. Born and raised in Northern France, she went to Paris after her Baccalauréat to study Japanese. Three years later she moved to London to study at SOAS, started working in the publishing industry and worked at the BBC for many years.

After the birth of her first child she opened a ‘freefrom’ Indian catering company with her husband, inspired by her daughter’s food allergies.

As well as looking after her daughters, Céline is pursuing her many creative talents: writing, translating, designing and following courses in fashion design.
