If you’d like to make the most of the last days of summer, head to Le Bordu café in Rolle (VD) before it closes for the season and enjoy a light lunch accompanied by stunning views of Lac Léman.

This quaint wooden caravan-cum-café sits at the bottom of one of the luscious gardens overlooking Rolle’s lakefront promenade.

With its dappled outdoor seating and homemade fare of savoury quiches, terrines and smoothies from locally sourced suppliers, Le Bordu café is perfect for an afternoon snack with the children or a light lunch with friends.

The café’s menu includes healthy treats such as Quinoa salad with veggies, carpaccio de courgettes, local specialities like féra du Lac Léman fumé artisanal and scrumptious panna cotta desserts – all very reasonably priced.

If you decide to bring the kids along, remember their micro scooters: the lake promenade in Rolle is car-free so they can play safely for hours while you enjoy a well-deserved break! And if they get bored, you can head to the nearby Rolle playground and skate park for more outdoor fun until it’s time to head back home.
